Confession: I've been intrigued by the Indieweb recently, and the idea of slash pages in particular.

I am such a geek when it comes to reading about the tech/life stack of other site owners. It's fascinating! It's been an integral part of my own learning curve: trying out new tools, apps and services to see what fits my current needs and what helps me maintain the site.

I change things up every now and then, but here are a few of the things I use on a regular basis. Hope it can inspire you to test out a few tools or just hum along and say things like "yep, I use that service too!" as you read this page. Enjoy!

Website: Bear blog
Domain: Go Daddy (looking to switch to Porkbun, Njalla or similar privacy-respecting service, but I haven't gotten around to it yet)
Email: Proton email
Messaging: Signal (preferred, close family and friends), WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger still in use for convenience, unfortunately
VPN: Proton VPN
Notes: Obsidian and Obsidian Sync
Password manager: Bitwarden
Encrypted cloud storage: Filen

Hardware

Computer: MacBook Pro 💻
Phone: iPhone 12 📱
External storage: Seagate external hard drive 2TB
Headphones: Sony WH-1000XM3 🎧 (great for listening to music on the go)
Ebook device: Amazon Kindle (although it's getting old and I might replace it eventually. I prefer to visit the library and borrow hardcopy versions of books for my book club)

Apps

Browser: Brave (general browsing), Safari (sometimes for purchases)
Maps: Organic Maps
Podcasts: Apple Podcasts
Music: Apple Music (previously Spotify)
Authenticator: 2FAS, Google authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Bitwarden Authenticator (been meaning to integrate into one authenticator, perhaps replacing/complementing it with two Yubikeys or similar further down the line)
