The Best of Olle Lindholm in 2013

posted on December 30, 2013

I’m a big fan of the “best of” lists.

There’s something about them that puts everything into perspective. The three words for this year was to live, learn, and do. And oh boy, did I do that!

Every year, right before Christmas, I buckle down and collect the most popular articles. It’s a chance for you to catch up on something that you might have missed. And it lets me revisit my content and celebrate our achievements.

So, without further ado, here are the most popular articles from 2013, based both on your enthusiasm and my own.

Inspirational life lessons

What You Can Learn from Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs was a great visionary and a true inspiration. I read his autobiography and shared my biggest takeaways in this blog post.

On Love, Mothers, and the Legacy of Women
In 2013, we celebrated the success of women. I looked at my mum’s success as a businesswoman in the 1970s and ’80s. Both men and women have a lot to learn from previous generations. That’s for sure.

13 Timeless Lessons from Walt Disney
Walt Disney is my childhood hero. There’s so much we can learn from this man. I admire his quest to awaken the child within us.

Must-read article for anyone who’s serious about making their dreams a reality.

Warning: Are You Hanging Out with a Party Pooper?

How to Kiss Your Bullshit Excuses Goodbye
We love excuses. They’re so convenient. The only problem is they’re not helping us move forward on our path.

Stop talking, start doing

Take 15 Minutes to Make a Big Difference

What I’ve Learned from My Flippa Internship
My time managing the Flippa blog was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had. And I also learned a thing or two. Essential reading for fresh graduates, young professionals, or interns.

Speaking of other blogs. I also got published on these awesome blogs in 2013…

How to Live a Fun and Meaningful Life
My first article got published and became an instant hit. It exceeded my expectations and put a smile on my face for days. Turns out most people want to live a fun and meaningful life after all, but they don’t know where to begin. This article is a good start.

Speed Dating: The Quickest Way to Get to Know Yourself

The A to Z Guide to a Rich Life
A is for Adventure, B is for Bravery. But a rich life is mostly brought to you by the letter C, for the Choice is yours to make it happen. An extensive 3,000 word article that teaches you all the things you need to know (and do) to make the most of your life.

What Copyblogger’s Chris Garrett Looks for in a Website
Chris Garrett is the Chief Digital Officer at Copyblogger Media. He’s my unofficial mentor and just an all-around nice guy. I had the pleasure of interviewing him about procrastination, websites, and running an online business for the Flippa blog.

Why You Should Consider Investing in Digital Real Estate
An article that first got published on the Flippa blog, but quickly got picked up by The Next Web.  To my great surprise, the article went viral. It talks about why you need to invest in your own property (like your own website) and become your own landlord online.

That’s all for me right now. But don’t worry, I have lots of awesome content planned for you in 2014!

Until then, enjoy the holidays, cherish the ones you love, and plan on accomplishing more than you think you can in the coming year.

It’s going to be an interesting one.
